Commercial Property – Business Interruption Loss

On July 2014 Mt. Kelud erupted and released massive amount of volcanic hot dusts to surrounding cities. Our client hotel is located in Yogyakarta and was affected by hot dusts which disturbed the hotel operation. The eruption also affected public accesses to the hotel and required extensive restoration work and cleaning. Our client sustained short term financial losses due to closing of public access and the hotel.

Problem:

Our client was not familiar with BI policy conditions and faced possible claim declinature by Insurers due to absence of material damage.
